Pâté Chinois

Ingredients:


2 lb (900 g) potatoes
1/4 cup (50 mL) butter
1/4 cup (50 mL) milk or cream
2 lb (900 g) lean ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
1 tsp (5 mL) salt
1 tsp (5 mL) pepper
2 14 oz (400 g) cans creamed corn
1/4 cup (50 mL) butter, softened


Directions:

Boil potatoes until cooked; drain water and mash with 1/4 cup (50 mL) butter, and milk.

In a frying pan add ground beef, onion, salt and pepper; sauté until cooked.

Spread ground beef mixture in a 9x13" baking dish, top with creamed corn and finish with mashed potatoes.

Use a fork to make lines vertically or horizontally on mashed potatoes.

Spread softened butter on top, and bake uncovered at 350°F (180°C) for 45 to 50 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
