Sauerkraut mit Speck

Another great recipe for a delicious Sauerkraut. It's a pretty classic recipe and one that's sure to please the entire family. It's perfect with Sausages, whether you're grilling them outdoors during the Summer or pan frying indoors during the Winter.

Ingredients
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 lbs sauerkraut
3 onions
2 bay leaves
salt
pepper
2 tsp caraway seeds
1/2 tsp sugar
2 tbls white wine
1 cup instant Maggi bouillion (Chicken or Beef)
10 slices smoked bacon

Directions
Heat the oil in a saucepan and add sauerkraut.
Peel onions, dice and add to sauerkraut. Place bay leaves in pan. Stir in salt, pepper, caraway seeds, and sugar - mix well. Cover sauerkraut with white wine and bouillion. Cover and simmer on medium-low heat for 30 minutes.

Lay slices of bacon over the sauerkraut and continue simmering for another 15-20 minutes. Serve warm.
